6x6 Magic Square
Magic Square of Order 6x6 is an even order magic square type. There are six rows and six columns with all together 36 different numbers in every puzzles of this type. On addition of numbers horizontally, vertically and diagonally gives the same magic constant. The first Magic Constant found is 111 which consist of numbers from 1 to 36 which is a primary magic square and has been shown in the picture below.
Types of Magic Square of Order 6x6
Unlike Magic Square of Order 3x3 which is off just one type where all magic constants are divisible by 3, magic square of order 6x6 are off two types where magic constants are divisible by 2 and 3 or just by 3.
Magic Square Constant Divisible by 3
In this case, all the magic constants of magic square of order 6x6 are only divisible by 3 and not by 2. The numbers in the puzzles are mixture of odd and even numbers. This can be illustrated with an example below where Magic Constant is 111 which is only divisible by 3 but not by 2.
Magic Square Constant Divisible by 2 and 3
In this case, all the magic constants of magic square of order 6x6 are divisible by 3 and 2 as well. The numbers present in the puzzles are either all odd numbers or all even numbers. This can be illustrated with an example below where Magic Constant is 228 which is divisible by 3 as well as 2.
